TEGENWOORDIGE TIJDEN
Present Simple:
hele werkwoord
bij she / he / it  hele werkwoord+(E)S
SHIT-regel (She He IT)
vragend / ontkennend: do / does (SHIT-regel) + hele werkwoord
 gebruik je: - bij gewoontes
Uncle Joe always smokes a cigar after dinner.
(uncle Joe = he  werkwoord + S)

Water flows to the sea.
(water = it  werkwoord + S)
 Let op woorden zoals: usually, always, often, normally, regularly, sometimes e.d.
(woorden die aangeven dat iets vaak gebeurt)
Present Continuous:
am / is / are + werkwoord+ing
 gebruik je bij activiteiten / bezigheden die NU bezig zijn maar een keer stoppen
He is reading a book.
They are digging a hole.
You can’t see him, he’s working now.
 Let op woorden zoals: ‘at the moment’, ‘now’
VERLEDEN TIJDEN
Past Simple:

werkwoord + ed
van de onregelmatige werkwoorden
vragend / ontkennend: did + hele werkwoord
 gebruik je als je weet dat iets in het verleden is gebeurd
The Romans invaded Britain a long time ago.

 ' Look for the LADY!!! ' : L(ast) - A(go) - D(atum in het verleden) - Y(esterday / ear).
Dit zijn de tijdsbepalingen waaraan je kan zien dat het al afgelopen is / in het verleden
gebeurde. Let op woorden zoals: ‘yesterday’, ‘last week’, ‘in 1985’ maar ook zoiets als
‘when I was young’
Past Continuous:
was / were + werkwoord+ing
'were' bij you & meervoud
 gebruik je als dingen in het verleden een tijdje duurden, vaak worden ze onderbroken
 Let op de woorden: ‘when’ en ‘while’
While I was watching TV, the phone rang.
What were you doing in my room?
TOEKOMENDE TIJDEN
Future met 'going to:
am / is / are + going to + hele werkwoord
 gebruik je als iemand van plan is iets te gaan doen
 gebruik je als je weet dat iets nog gaat gebeuren
They are going to buy that scooter tomorrow.
He is going to visit his granny next Sunday
Future Simple:
shall / will + hele werkwoord
'shall' bij I & we in vragende zinnen
 gebruik je in andere situaties
The plane will leave in half an hour.
Shall I give you a hand?
Let op: shall not = shan’t
will not = won’t
VOLTOOIDE TIJDEN
Present Perfect:
have / has (SHIT-regel) + voltooid deelwoord
 gebruik je bij:
iets is in het verleden begonnen maar het gaat nog steeds door / het
heeft nog steeds gevolgen (heeft altijd te maken met NU)
He has lived here since 1980. (woont er nu nog steeds)
Susan has been a stewardess for 5 years. (ze is nu nog steeds stewardess)
I have just finished my homework. (ik heb het huiswerk nu dus af)
