Vacancy: Project assistant for European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC)
Duration: full time 1 year
In the framework of the Horizon 2020 Preparatory phase 2EMBRC project, the marine biology
research group at Ghent University is looking for an extra person for 1 year.
This person will be responsible for the development of a central virtual access point to the research
facilities of the ‘European Marine Biological Resource Centre’ (www.embrc.eu). The person will be
responsible for achieving the following goals:



Collecting and cataloguing the research infrastructures within the European Consortium
Developing, documenting and testing of a virtual access platform for the users
Developing, documenting and testing of off-line and online interfaces for this access
platform.
Profile







Degree: Master in IT, sciences or equivalent
Good knowledge of database development
Good knowledge of web development (preferentially through Drupal/Php)
You are a teamplayer, who is able to work on an independent basis.
You are willing to attend workshops in an international setting.
Good knowledge of English
Affinity with marine research or research infrastructure is considered as an asset
Start date of the contract: 1 November 2015

Mariene Biologie van de Universiteit Gent op zoek naar een projectmedewerker voor een periode
van 1 jaar
De medewerker zal instaan voor het ontwikkelen van een centraal virtueel toegangspunt tot de
onderzoeksfaciliteiten van het ‘European Marine Biological Resource Centre’ (www.embrc.eu). De
medewerker zal instaan voor het behalen van de volgende doelstellingen binnen het project:



Verzamelen en catalogeren van de onderzoeksinfrastructuur en diensten aanwezig binnen
het Europese consortium
Ontwikkelen, documenteren en testen van een virtueel toegansplatform voor gebruikers
Ontwikkelen, documenteren en testen van de off- en online interfaces voor dit virtueel
toegangsplatform.
Profiel







Diploma Master in IT, wetenschappen of gerelateerde opleiding
Goede kennis van database development
Goede kennis van web development (preferentieel in Drupal omgeving)
Je bent een teamplayer, die zelfstandig kan werken.
Je bent bereid om in het buitenland een aantal workshops bij te wonen.
Je hebt een goede kennis van de Engelse taal
Affiniteit met mariene onderzoeksinfrastructuur is een pluspunt
