Met structuur wordt bedoeld hoe atomen van een molecuul

Volgens DIN 51794 si de zelfontbrandingstemperatuur de
laagste temperatuur van een glasoppervlak waardoor een
brandbare vloeistof tot “zelfontbranding” kan worden gebracht
als men er druppels van die vloeistof op laat vallen. Door
katalytische werking van metalen, verontreinigingen e.d.
kan onder praktijkomstandigheden bij een lagere temperatuur
al zelfontbranding optreden.
