RESEARCH CARDIOLOGIE 2010 – 2015
INLEIDING
Binnen de vakgroep Cardiologie wordt al jaren tijd en energie gestoken in onderzoek en
wetenschap. Resultaten van onderzoek worden nationaal en internationaal gepubliceerd.
De research afdeling van de Cardiologie levert een belangrijke bijdrage aan onderzoek en
wetenschap, middels patiënten informeren, includeren en zorg dragen voor de juiste followup en het (mee)schrijven van publicaties. Tevens wordt binnen de research de
complicatieregistratie van de interventiecardiologie bijgehouden. In totaal werkt er 4,5 fte
op de researchafdeling.
Naast alle (inter)nationale publicaties levert de research cardiologie de volgende andere
belangrijke voordelen op:
- 7 PhD trajecten (co-promotoren Kofflard en IJsselmuiden)
- Het waarborgen van de opleiding cardiologie d.m.v. deze PhD trajecten (en
interventiefellows) door intensieve samenwerking met de afdeling cardiologie van het EMC
- Verbetering van kwaliteit van zorg door goede registratie van complicaties en het gebruik
maken van de nieuwste beschikbare technologieën
- Verbetering van de vaardigheden van de interventiecardioloog door snelle implementatie
van nieuwe technologieën en strategieën
- ASZ Center of Excellence voor “self-expanding stenting” en op korte termijn “Optical
Coherence Tomography (OCT)”
- Samenwerking met andere disciplines zoals het clinical animal Lab CAL Nijmegen (FFR
dierexperimenten), de afdeling plastische chirurgie ASZ, hand –en pols centrum ASZ,
statistiek en research afdeling Terumo Japan, EMC afdeling cardiologie en diverse andere
(inter)nationale ziekenhuizen
- Publiciteit middels live case DRES(2015), (mede) organisatie van een congres in Athene
(2011), publicaties in WASZ, Internet, Daily newspaper TCT USA en Advertorials
