What is magnetic declination?
Qu´est-ce que la déclinaison magnétique?
Wat is de magnetische declinatie?
Der magnetische Nordpol weicht geringfügig vom geographischen
Nordpol ab.
Die Abweichung zwischen dem magnetischen und dem
geographischen Nordpol nennt man magnetische Deklination. Die
Abweichung wird in Grad und Minuten angegeben und hängt vom
jeweiligen Standpunkt ab.
Die meisten magnetischen Kompasse – wie auch der digitale
Kompass mit Höhenmesser von hama- zeigen zum magnetischen
Nordpol, während auf Landkarten der tatsächliche Nordpol
angegeben wird.
Zur Verwendung des Kompasses zur Navigation oder exakten
Richtungsbestimmung, muss der Kompass zuerst justiert werden, um
die magnetische Deklination zu kompensieren
(siehe Bedienungsanleitung S.4)
The magnetic north varies slightly from the true north.
The deviance between the magnetic and the true north is called
magnetic declination. The deviance is indicated in degrees and
minutes and depends on the respective place.
The most magnetic compasses – also the digital compass with
altimeter from hama – point to the magnetic north whereas the true
north is indicated on maps.
If you want to use the compass for navigation or for exact
determination of the direction, you have to adjust the compass first
in order to compensate the magnetic declination (see operating
instructions page 4).
Le pôle nord magnétique diffère un peu du pôle nord géographique.
La différence entre le pôle nord magnétique et le pôle nord
géographique est appelée la déclinaison magnétique. La différence
s´exprime en degrés et en minutes et dépend du point de situation
respectif.
La plupart des boussoles magnétiques – comme la boussole numérique avec altimètre de hama – indiquent le pôle nord magnétique
alors que sur les cartes figure le pôle nord réel.
Pour utiliser la boussole pour la navigation ou la détermination
exacte de la direction, il est d´abord nécessaire d´ajuster la boussole
pour compenser la déclinaison magnétique (cf. notice d´utilisation
page 4).
De magnetische noordpool wijkt enigszins van de geografische
noordpool af.
De afwijking tussen de magnetische en de geografische noordpool
noemt men magnetische declinatie. De afwijking wordt in graden en
minuten aangegeven en is afhankelijk van de betreffende positie.
De meeste magnetische kompassen – alsmede het Hama digitale
kompas voorzien van hoogtemeting – wijzen naar de magnetische
noordpool, terwijl op landkaarten de werkelijke (geografische)
noordpool wordt weergegeven.
Bij het gebruiken van het kompas als navigatie-instrument of bij
het bepalen van de exacte richting, moet het kompas eerst worden
gejusteerd teneinde de magnetische declinatie te compenseren (zie
bedieningsinstructies bladzijde 4).
