The meeting on “Innovation in Climate Services” will take place 2-4 November 2015 in Egmond aan
Zee, the Netherlands and will be hosted by KNMI (http://www.knmi.nl ).
Please note that the meeting is not taking place at KNMI in De Bilt.

Transportation:
On Monday 2 November from 09:30 until 13:30 transport will be organized from the train station in
Alkmaar to the meeting venue “Hotel Zuiderduin” in Egmond aan Zee.
Minibus taxi’s will maintain a regular service. If you would like to use this service, then after arriving
by train in Alkmaar, please proceed to the front of the station where a minibus will be waiting. If
there is no minibus available at the moment you arrive, one will arrive shortly.
Public transport:
You can take a taxi from Schiphol Airport to both hotels. The cost will amount to approximately
between 85-100 euro. The distance is around 50 km.
From Schiphol Airport it is about 1:20 hours
travelling by public transport to both the
hotels in Egmond aan zee.
There is no train station in Egmond aan Zee
but you can take the train to Alkmaar train
station and from Alkmaar take a bus in the
direction of Egmond aan Zee
At the trainstation at Schiphol Airport take the
train at track 3 in the direction of Amersfoort
Vathorst and after approximately 10 minutes
leave the train at train station Amsterdam
Sloterdijk.
At station Sloterdijk take the train at track 4,
in the direction of Den Helder and after
approximately 30 minutes leave the train in
Alkmaar.
The bus stop is in near both hotels (see map
below). You can ask the bus driver to let you
know when you have reached your
destination.
If you are not able to use the transportation organized by the meeting than upon arrival in Alkmaar
you will need to take bus nr. 165 from Connexxion in the direction Egmond aan Zee (walking
distance from the train station to the bus station is 4 minutes).
Before travelling please check the information (also in English) about public transport in The
Netherlands on: http://m.9292.nl/en . It is possible, that the travel information mentioned above
has changed on short notice.
By car (from Amsterdam):
Take A9 north bound
Take exit 12 Ring Alkmaar towards N9 direction Heiloo/Den Helder/Centrum (1,2 km)
Take 3rd exit at roundabout Kooimeer towards Heilooer Tolweg/N9. Continue on N9 (3,3 km)
Turn left Terborchlaan/N512. Continue on N512 (5,6 km).
Gentle curve to the right Heilooer Zeeweg (55 m)
Turn right Heilooer Zeeweg (400 m)
Continue this road to Egmonder Straatweg (650 m)
Turn left Voorstraat (550 m)
Turn left Prins Hendrikstraat (160 m)
Take a gentle curve to the right Admiraal de Ruyterweg (280 m)
Continue this road to the Zeeweg.
You will find your destination on the right side of the road.
There is free parking available at the hotel.
